If there’s one thing almost everyone in the civilized world does at least once in a lifetime, it’s cooking. Some people use recipes to prepare dishes but most do not. Many people just “wing it”. When you’re hungry, good enough is all that’s required.
Some people use specialized appliances for preparation and cooking but then again, most do not.

There are more food blogs out there than you can shake a stick at. I joined the Bloggers Traffic Community more than a year ago, but I’m not an active participant anymore. I wasn’t active for very long to begin with. One of the first things I learned by being a member is that there are far more food blog owners on there than owners covering other niches. Many of the food blogs were designed to share recipes.
Some specialized appliances Americans use for cooking include both conventional and microwave ovens, rice cookers, mixers, blenders and toasters. Most Filipinos (and my wife, Josie, was raised there) don’t use any appliances other than a countertop gas stove with two or more burners. They use pots to cook their rice. I’m sure the food blog owners use appliances I’ve never thought of using for anything.
