Blogging With Niche Market Ideas

RT Cunningham | December 12, 2020 (UTC) | Blogging

bloggingI stumbled across an article from Nichehacks many months ago with a list of niche market ideas, but I can’t tell you exactly when. The first time I read it, there were only 1109 ideas. I only know that because my bookmark had the number in the title. It’s been updated since then and it now has more blogging ideas than ever before.

Although I probably already have tons of things to write about, they’re most likely topics that only interest me. I need a source of ideas to flex my mental muscles, so I can write about things that may interest you.

Focusing on Specific Blogging Ideas

The article I mentioned divides the ideas into 28 major categories. Each category is then broken down into subcategories. What I would like to do is to focus on one category at a time and add some context to some subcategories. It’s going to be a daunting task but not because it’s hard to do. I’m afraid I’m going to find a lot of it quite boring.

I have spent most of the last five months rewriting articles from my other websites and redirecting the URLs for them to this website. Out of the remaining 160 or so articles, only a few deserve being rewritten and transferred.

Blogging With Injuries

I haven’t written anything since the weekend following Thanksgiving Day, until today that is. Before that, I injured myself by missing the last stair step outside the apartment I’m staying in. There was poor lighting and it was drizzling rain. I landed on my hands and knees with the brunt of the impact on my right hand and arm. I now have a tennis elbow and it will probably take months to heal completely. After all, I’m not young anymore.

Blogging (touch typing, actually) doesn’t require much effort, but the repetitive motion will cause my elbow to ache in short order. This blog post is not long at all, yet it has taken me hours to complete. I haven’t had this much pain since I recovered from carpal tunnel syndrome in the mid-1990s. Well, not continuously anyway.

It’s Not About the Money

Making money by blogging is nice, especially when it’s time to renew the domain name, but it’s not the reason I keep blogging. As my wife and I discussed, I would most likely be writing about something somewhere regardless of the money. I’m in my retirement years and I really don’t have a lot to do most of the time, especially when I’m in the Philippines.

Anyway… I plan to start working with the first category immediately. I’ll be publishing each post when it’s completed, not waiting for the next day.
